Jorge Jesus" side were three goals behind after just 30 minutes, with Marquinhos’ close range strike sandwiched between a Zlatan Ibrahimović brace.

Benfica eventually stemmed the tide, but the damage had already been done.

Defeat leaves the Portuguese side level in 2nd on three points with Olympiacos, who they face next in a double-header.

Siqueira was philosophical about PS-G’s dominance and believes the tie’s against Olympiacos will now be decisive.

"We knew it was going to be a very difficult game here against PS-G, but our team is united," the 27 year-old told UEFA.com.

"Everything remains open for us in the group and we have to keep our heads up and look forward. We have to win our next match [against Olympiacos], at home, to keep fighting to reach the next round. We know what we can do and we are here to go to the last 16. We didn"t win this match, so we have to start thinking about winning the next one."
