Paris Saint-Germian defender Thiago Silva believes the sale of Mamadou Sakho is not a great loss as he feels Marquinhos is just as good.
Marquinhos made the move to Paris this summer in a big money move from Roma and has been forced to play more than he possibly would have due to injuries to Silva himself and Alex.
Ahead of the club’s Champions League tie with Benfica, Thaigo Silva thinks that although Sakho’s experience is greater than Marquinhos’, the 19-year-old is already just as good as the Liverpool defender, reports Sportsmole.
“Sakho has more experience, most notably because he is an international and has come through many important games,” Silva told reporters.
“But apart from that I would say they are at the same level. Marquinhos has made a lot of progress in recent years.”
