The Spanish Football League has published the shortlists for various awards for the 2012-13 season in the Primera and Segunda Division.

New Atlético Madrid signing Léo Baptistão is amongst the elite group of players nominated for an award following his impressive season for Rayo Vallecano.

The striker is up for the award for Best Revelation alongside Sevilla’s Alberto Moreno and Asier Illarramendi who had a great season for Real Sociedad before his high profile summer switch to Real Madrid.

Baptistão enjoyed a great break-out season last year after coming up through the Rayo B side and cemented his place in the first team quickly.

After scoring seven goals in 28 appearances last season, it alerted a number of clubs to his talent, promting Atlético Madrid to make the move after he scored against them.

The list of candidates for both the Primera Division and Segunda Division will be sent out to League Coaches who participated in 2012-13 for each to vote in their competition the winners for each position, reports Football Espana.

Players will vote for the Best Player and the Best Coach, with all awards presented at a gala to be held on December 2.
