The centre-back told the club’s official site: “My wish today is to return home to find a club there and still play a few years.

“It has been nine years since I am in Europe, including six here in Monaco, it is an great experience but I miss my parents, my family and my friends. It is time for me to approach them.

“I want to thank the fans who have supported me through good and bad times over the years to AS Monaco FC.

“I will continue to follow the club and I will be happy to return seeing all my friends in the Principality. I wish the team to live a good season, I think everything is there for it.”
