Paris Saint-Germain captain Thiago Silva has denied recent speculation that he has reached an agreement with Barcelona.
The 28-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to Camp Nou ever since last summer, and recent reports suggested he has already agreed terms ahead of a possible transfer.
But Silva, who is currently on holiday after the Confederations Cup, has issued a statement via his agent, Paulo Tonietto, to deny meeting or holding negotiations with directors of the Catalan club.
Tonietto also insisted that reports of a deal with the La Liga side were not true during an interview with Calciomercato.it, commenting: “I don’t know anything about that, and it’s not true at all.”
The Brazil international has four years remaining on his current contract at the Parc des Princes.
