Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon has claimed that the 2013 Confederations Cup was an excellent learning exercise ahead of Brazil 2014.

The Azzurri captain says that Italy have learnt a lot about the conditions in Brazil and believe they will be better prepared to handle it next year.

“We learnt so many little things that will help us prepare better for next year,” the 35-year-old goalkeeper told FIFA’s official website.

“From the weather to the level our opponents are at, there were lots of interesting details to take from it.

“I honestly think it’s been great to have a dress rehearsal before the World Cup because it’ll give us a small advantage over everyone else.”
