Luiz Gustavo has revealed he wants to stay at Bayern Munich and plans to discuss his situation with new coach Pep Guardiola when he returns for pre-season training.

The Brazil international moved to the club from Hoffenheim in 2011, but saw his future come under threat last summer after the signing of Javi Martinez from Athletic Bilbao.

The appointment of former Barcelona boss Guardiola has also raised questions about whether he is going to be part of the new era at the Allianz Arena.

However, Gustavo is currently enjoying a break after helping the Seleção win the Confederations Cup and is happy to wait to see what the future holds, as reported on Sky Sports.

“I am under contract,” Gustavo told Globo Esporte. “I want to stay but let’s see what happens.

“I will present myself to the new manager on July 18 and let’s see what his decision will be.

“This title doesn’t make me feel that I am certain to play. It’s always good to be valued, to see your job is being done well. Everyone who works feels happy to be valued.

“Now, let’s see what will happen. I want to see out my contract. Our team is very good and I feel well in Munich, but let’s see.”
