England boss Roy Hodgson has suffered another setback in his plans for the friendly against Brazil after Tottenham defender Kyle Walker was forced to withdraw from the squad due to injury.

Walker reportedly picked up a knock in Tottenham’s end of season friendly against Jamaica and the FA have sinced announced the player will be returning to his club.

Manchester United’s Danny Welbeck is also a major doubt having missed a training session on Monday.

Hodgson has also reportedly told Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge that he will be starting Wednesday’s friendly against the Republic of Ireland alongside Wayne Rooney.

If Sturridge performs, he could well be in Hodgson’s plans for Sunday’s friendly against the Seleção.
