André Castro opened the scoring after only 3 minutes, taking advantage of a poor attempt by Flamengo’s left-back João Paulo to clear the ball.

Flamengo started well the second half Nixon equalized after only 8 minutes, and more chances were created in the rest of the second half.

Audax kept resorting to playing on counter-attacks and the strategy paid off as Hyuri scored their second goal shortly before the final whistle.

Flamengo’s 1-2 defeat means they are virtually eliminated from the competition, manager Jorginho admitted they will now focus  on the Brazilian Cup.
