Palmeiras’ president Paulo Nobre has ruled out the possibility of signing Benfica’s striker Alan Kardec.

The striker has been linked to Palmeiras lately, Benfica reportedly turned down a 2 million Euros offer already, according to Portuguese press reports. The Portuguese club demand 4 million Euros to sell the player.

Paulo Nobre said the club are not in financial conditions to sign him: “Alan Kardec is a great player, he is interesting not only for Palmeiras but for all other Brazilian clubs”.

He added: “Benfica’s president Luís Filipe said he will only want to negotiate Alan Kardec if it’s a permanent transfer as half of his rights are owned by investors. Palmeiras are not in financial conditions to sign him”.

Alan Kardec started his career at Vasco, played for Brazil’s under 20 national team and eventually joined Benfica. He failed to impress at the Portuguese club and was loaned to Santos from 2011 to 2012. He has since then been playing for Benfica’s B team.
