Zenit winger Hulk was satisfied with his and Brazil’s performance on Monday night, but believes that the Seleção could have won the game against Russia.

The former Porto player did not start the match following his poor game against Italy, but came from the bench during the second half when he replaced Chelsea’s midfielder Oscar.

He put in an impressive performance on the night, helping Brazil reach the equalizer near the end of the match.

Hulk told the press ranks after the game: “No doubt we could have won the game, we did our best. We kept trying until the end, but we failed to score the second goal. The first one came too late.”

The winger was content with his own performance, saying: “I’m happy for representing the country, it’s an honour to wear this shirt. I did my best to win the game, but unfortunately we couldn’t.”

Brazil’s next games will be against Bolivia and Chile in April, before facing England and France in June and then Japan in their Confederations Cup debut.
