Manchester United owned defender Fabio da Silva is hoping to return his parent club and play alongside twin brother Rafael, following a successful loan season at QPR this year.

Fabio, 22, was sent to the West London club to gain regular first-team football and has thus far made 19 appearances for the Rs.

Earlier this week, Fabio was given a very public vote of confidence by United reserve coach Warren Joyce who insisted he could be as good as his brother at Old Trafford.

The Brazilian admitted he was delighted with the praise and hoped to prove his former coach"s words correct.

"It’s very nice [to hear that]," Fabio told London24. "Maybe in the future my brother and I will play as wingers [at Manchester United].

"I don’t know. I’m here now and I want to help QPR get out of the relegation zone. I spoke with Warren Joyce, the reserve coach [at Manchester United], [assistant manager] Mike Phelan and the manager [Sir Alex Ferguson] as well. I speak with the players. I have friends there."

The former Fluminense academy youngster will be back in action this Saturday when QPR take on fellow relegation battlers Aston Villa at 15.00 GMT on Saturday afternoon.
