Lazio’s Hernanes believes he has settled into a role at the club and thanked coach Vladimir Petkovic for giving him the chance.
The Brazilian has excelled in a deep-lying position this season after previously being deployed in advanced positions in recent season.
“I came here two years ago and played in a role I wasn’t accustomed to, then this summer I spoke to Petkovic and told him I’d prefer to be in a deeper position rather than on the final third,” the Brazilian told Lazio Style Channel.
“This is my role, there is no need to perform other experiments. I am convinced that I don’t want to keep changing position on the pitch, as I know what is most suited to my characteristics. A few months ago I said my career was starting all over again and I was right.
“I love the Lazio fans and the people of this city, while it’s great to have a big meal at the restaurant and I can’t resist admiring the Colosseum.”
Hernanes also revealed his favourite players growing up and the best goals he has scored.
“In general I prefer midfielders, but my favourites were Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Zinedine Zidane, Clarence Seedorf and Andrea Pirlo.
“My best goal was probably in São Paulo vs Cruzeiro, when I skipped past two men before firing into the top corner. With the Lazio jersey, I really enjoyed the one against Milan at the Olimpico this season.”
