Brazil attacking midfielder Lucas Moura has revealed that he has suffered no major damage after a tackle suffered in action on the weekend left him on crutches.

Lucas, 20, was caught from behind by Nancy midfielder Thomas Mangani, forcing him to leave the field and undergo scans to assess the extent of the injury.

Luckily, with the results now known, Lucas has revealed that he should be back playing once the swelling to the area has subsided once again.

“Thanks to God there was no ligament damage in my left ankle, nothing more serious,” he told reporters.

“The doctor told me to stay calm and I am relieved. Now it just needs treatment to return. In three days they’ll reassess me to see if I can return to the pitch.”

According to the reports, Lucas still remains a doubt for Brazil’s upcoming international fixtures with Italy and Russia on 21 and 25 March.
