Independente defender Johnny Dos Santos was sent off after the final whistle of his side’s 1-0 defeat to Marília for a brutal attack on the referee.

The 25-year-old, commonly known as Sasa, was furious after only four minutes of injury time were signalled in the Paulista A3 clash.

Sasa reacted in outrageous fashion after the whistle as he walked straight over to Brazilian referee Mauricio Antonio Fioretti and planted a vicious boot into his neck.

Dos Santos can expect a lengthy ban and severe punishment from the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF).
