Internacional are Taça Piratini winners after a comfortable 5-0 win over São Luiz and secures a place in the showpiece final as the first stage of the Campeonato Gaúcho comes to an end.

Internacional will now take their place in the overall final as the winner of the first stage and a second stage begins in order to find the second team to contest the final.

Leandro Damião opened the scoring with a superb low effort from the edge of the box to give Internacional the lead after the away side missed a host of chances in the early stages.

Internacional added a second just before the break as Gabriel pounced on a loose ball in the box to lash home after a goalmouth scramble.

Damião was a threat once more as the long-time Tottenham target set up D’Alessandro for the third goal as the midfielder tucked away a simple finish past the advancing goalkeeper.

The Internacional striker was in a confident mood and saved his best for last as he curled in a majestic strike that left the keeper floundering at thin air.

Internacional weren’t finished just yet as Rafael Moura added a fifth goal with a lobbed finish in the last few seconds as they ended the game with a flourish.
