PSG forward Lucas Moura will undergo an MRI scan on his ankle later on Sunday after an injury picked up in victory over Nancy on Saturday left the Brazilian on crutches.

Lucas, who was injured by a tackle from midfielder Mangani, released pictures of his ankle on Sunday ahead of assessment of the injury.

It is likely that the former Sao Paulo man will now miss Brazil’s upcoming friendly encounters with Italy and Russia, having been named in the squad by manager Luiz Felipe Scolari.

“It was a very dangerous tackle. I was very scared when it happened as it was the ankle I heard in the first game against Valencia,” Lucas told reporters. “It was a strong impact on my standing leg. I took the blow from behind and my leg got stuck.

“It hurts a lot on both sides of the ankle. I’m afraid of stepping firmly because I feel that it’s a little fragile. I’m trying to step and walk, God willing it is nothing serious.”

Lucas will now hope that the injury does not affect his participation in any of the Ligue 1 side’s remaining Champions League fixtures.
