According to reports in Italy, AC Milan have agreed a deal with Serie B side Verona to sign 50% of Brazilian midfielder Jorginho at the end of the season.

Jorginho, 21, has played 60 times in Serie B for the side over the past two years and is regarded as one of the best players currently operating in the Italian second tier.

It is believed that, should Verona clinch promotion to Serie A, the player would remain at the club for a further year to gain top flight experience in familiar surroundings.

The Santa Catarina-born winger is also reported to be looking into securing an international future in his adopted country, having spent his entire senior career to date in Italy.

Despite his links with some of Italy’s biggest and most traditional clubs, the player remains somewhat of an unknown in his homeland having never played for a major Brazilian side.
