For the second consecutive month, Paris Saint-Germain supporters have voted Brazilian forward Lucas Moura as their official Player of the Month.

Lucas, 21, has now won the award in both months since his arrival in the French capital and, in the process, saw off stiff competition from established stars Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Ezequiel Lavezzi.

The former São Paulo youngster stole first place with 20 percent of the votes cast while Ibrahimovic and Lavezzi could manage just 16 and 15 percent respectively.

The Brazilian played an important role in the club’s recent Le Classique victory over historical rivals Marseille, helping to open the scoring with a deflected effort that would eventually be classified as an own goal.

The No. 29 was helpless to prevent a shock 1-0 defeat to Reims this weekend but, despite having yet to register on the scoresheet in seven Ligue 1 fixtures, has quickly become a firm favourite of the Parisien crowd.

Lucas and his side will be back in action on Wednesday night when they take on Valencia in the Champions League, hoping to secure a place in the upcoming quarter-finals.
