Real Madrid midfielder Kaká is ignoring media talk of a “crisis” at rivals Barcelona ahead of a second Clasico fixture in a week this season.

Barcelona have fallen to major recent defeats against Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey and AC Milan in the Champions League, prompting some in the media to question the current La Liga leader’s position in the European game.

Kaká, though, insists he is ignoring the distraction and merely focusing on securing victory and catching second-placed Atlético Madrid in La Liga.

“We do not think about leaving Barca in a crisis or not,” he said. “We just think about what we have to do ourselves.

“We must win the game against Barcelona and against Manchester United. The team has shown it can beat anyone. Tuesday’s game has given us a lot of confidence. Beating Barcelona is always good for us.

“We know that 16 points are a lot. But we just take things game to game. Tomorrow is a chance to cut the gap to 13. Passing Atletico and moving into second would be ideal too.”
