Milan forward Robinho has revealed that the team are ready to welcome Manchester City’s Mario Balotelli with “open arms”.

Although City are yet to make an announcement regarding the transfer, the Rossoneri say they have completed a deal for the striker until June 2017 and are already selling his shirt on their online store.

Robinho said: “Balotelli is a great player and will come to help the team.

“We are happy and the locker room awaits him with open arms. We hope he can have a great season here at Milan.”

The arrival of the Italian will no doubt increase competition among the club’s strikers further, with Robinho falling down the pecking order at the San Siro.

Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri recently stated that he is selecting 18-year-old M’Baye Niang ahead of Robinho, as he doesn’t know if the Brazilian will still be at the club next season.

There are some reports now suggesting the 29-year-old will be sold following the arrival of Balotelli, after negotiations reached an impasse with Santos a few weeks ago.

The former Manchester City attacker allegedly turned down offers from other Brazilian clubs during the transfer window, with Flamengo, Fluminense and Atlético Mineiro reportedly interested.
