Brazilian legend Ronaldo has confirmed that he is to spend a year studying in London and also revealed he no longer has any connections to Corinthians.

Ronaldo will move the England in February after ‘Carnaval’ is over but will continue to honour his commitments in Brazil, where he is a member of the organising committee for the 2014 World Cup.

“Yes, I’m going to London after Carnaval in late February,” the leading scorer in World Cup history told Globo Esporte.

“I’ll spend some time there, a year studying and working, but keep with my normal life and will often return to Brazil to meet my commitments.

“My focus this year will be work. I want to improve my English, to speak fluent and this is a good opportunity.”

The former Barcelona and Real Madrid striker is an idol at Corinthians, where he played from 2009 to 2011 before retiring, but admitted that he no longer has any connection to the club and was not involved in the deal to bring Alexandre Pato to the club.

“No. I was consulted by the medical department, because I’ve played with Pato, but it is a long time since I’ve spoken with him.

“What I said is that the best thing to do was to contact the medical department of Milan, where he was playing. I have no link to the Corinthians but I’m very friendly with all of them there.”
