European champions Chelsea have been told to raise their bid for Metalist Kharkiv forward Taison to £11 million, report the Guardian.

Taison,  24, has been a known target for Chelsea since confirming talks on a visit to Stamford Bridge in December. Negotiations are currently ongoing.

Interestingly, the article reports that Taison has been advised that he will be able to secure a work permit in the United Kingdom—despite never having represented his country.

A similar report is also carried in the Daily Mail, who state that Chelsea have been handed a deadline of Wednesday by Metalist to complete their move for the former Internacional striker. The Ukrainian club are reportedly disappointed with Chelsea ‘dragging their heels’ in negotiations.

Both papers are united in their reports that the forward will obtain a work permit upon completion of a transfer, possibly using his exploits in the Europa League as a demonstration of his ‘exceptional talent’
