Cruzeiro striker Wallyson is yet to agree terms with São Paulo over a suggested move to the club in January, following the expiry of his current contract on December 31.

Wallyson, 24, had been expected to wrap up a deal this week to join the Morumbi side, but progress has slowed as the parties seek to bash out the final few clauses of the contract. A deal is still expected in the coming days.

The striker, whose promising spell at Cruzeiro was disrupted by a serious ankle injury will join São Paulo on a one-year loan from owners Deportivo Maldonado (URU) with an agreed option to buy in place.

Since the completion of the Brazilian league season, Wallyson has undergone tests on his ankle injury in São Paulo and has just formalities of his medical to complete.

At São Paulo, Wallyson will be joined by fellow forwards Negueba and Aloísio for the 2013 season, while defenders Lúcio and Breno have also agreed deals with the club.

Chilean striker Eduardo Vargas is also thought to be close to agreeing a loan deal from Italian side Napoli, again with an option to buy, while Atlético Mineiro goalkeeper Renan Ribeiro should join the club at the end of his contract in May.
