According to reports, Botafogo are set to confirm the exit of promising centre-back Dória in the coming days, with Juventus having upped their transfer offer to €8 million.

All that remains to be completed now are details over the payment of the fee, with the Old Lady set to pay €6 million of the total up front.

How they will pay the remainder of the amount is the only remaining sticking point—with a fee after a set number of Juventus appearances the likely option.

The Italian Serie A champions have already seen bids of €4.5 million and €6 million rejected by Botafogo in recent times, with the Alvinegro requesting a bid of €10 million for their 18-year-old defender. A compromise, though, appears to have been reached.

“Negotiations are ongoing and there could be an outcome early in January. Nothing is sorted yet, but it is well advanced,” the player’s agent Jolden Vergette told Lancenet.

Dória is contracted to Botafogo until April 2015, with his economic rights split between the Carioca side, Banco BMG and a separate investment fund.

The sale, should it be completed, would be the largest in the club’s history—eclipsing the recent €5.7 million sale of Elkeson to Guangzhou Evergrande.
