France legend Patrick Vieira believes that the rise of PSG as a superpower and their signings have been good for French football.

PSG have been splashing the cash with big money buys of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva from AC Milan for more than £30m each.

Vieira told reporters that PSG have made France a more attractive prospect for players: “Paris Saint-Germain are doing something really good for the league, for French football in general, because they are bringing talents and when you bring in talents you bring in fans, and when you bring in fans you bring in media, and when you are bringing media you are bringing in the whole world.

“So I believe that bringing players like Ibrahimovic and Silva is helping French football to become well known all around the world. So I believe that is positive for French football.”

The duo have made a big impact with Ibrahimovic topping the scoring charts and Thiago Silva presiding over a rock solid defence.
