Botafogo president Maurício Assumpção has confirmed that the club have rejected a €4.5 million offer from Italian champions Juventus for youngster Dória.
The talented 18-year-old defender has been impressive in the Brasileirão this season, making 17 appearances and scoring one goal, and has caught the eye of several clubs.
The Fogao chief believes his club can demand a much higher transfer fee for Dória, especially in today’s transfer market.
He told Radio Globo: “For €4.5m, he won’t leave. We’ve already said no to that.
“But I don’t know – the transfer market is crazy. There are players out there being sold for €100m.”
Botafogo currently sit in fifth place in the league, five points behind São Paulo in the final Copa Libertadores qualification spot.
