Chelsea starlet Oscar was delighted with the team’s performance and paid tribute to Shakhtar’s players after last night’s Champions League win.

The Seleção star helped Chelsea to a 3-2 win against the Ukrainians after a Victor Moses strike gave them the three points in the Group E clash.

Oscar told reporters: “It was as difficult as we were expecting. We knew they were coming with an open game plan, and to try and put some pressure on us.

“We couldn’t afford to lose tonight and I think we really delivered. It was very difficult because at some points Shakhtar were simply better than us. But it was a great match and we got a very important win.”

The highlight of the match was certainly Oscar’s sublime 45 yard volley in the first half and the youngster was understandably delighted with the effort: “Yes, I think it was a beautiful goal.

“They let themselves down at the back, but then we haven’t done ourselves any favours in defence either.”

The midfielder paid one last tribute to the away side and backed them to give group rivals Juventus problems in their next fixture.

“That’s how Shakhtar play, they are very good in attack and we struggled with that. That’ll make it hard for Juventus too.

“They are a good team and everybody needs to watch out for them. But luckily we were at our best and were able to get the win.”
