Fluminense are closing in on the title after a 1-1 draw with São Paulo, with Fred once more scoring to propel himself to the top of the goalscoring charts. Luís Fabiano also got on the scoresheet for the home side.

Atlético Mineiro couldn’t take advantage of the title leaders dropping points as they lost 1-0 to Coritiba, effectively ending their title challenge. A Deivid penalty was enough to secure the win for Coritiba.

Atlético GO are now relegated to Serie B after losing 2-0 to Corinthians thanks to goals from Juan Martínez and Guilherme.

Relegation battlers Bahia secured an important 1-0 away win at Portuguesa in their bid to avoid the drop. A solitary Souza goal was enough to win the game for the away side.

Palmeiras’ problems grow worse as a 2-2 draw with Botafogo leaves them seven points from safety despite a Hernan Barcos double rescuing a point.

Náutico ran out comfortable 3-0 winners against Internacional as Souza scored two goals and assisted for the third, which was coverted by Kieza.
