The coach told reporters: “Colombia have had a great qualifying campaign and will be a good test for us to know where we are now. It should be one of the toughest games of the year.”

Menezes praised his Argentine counterpart, José Pekerman: “They have a touch of Argentina about them. They had a lot of quality before, even compared to us, but they did not have much tactical knowledge, which is now the case.”

The coach was all too aware of in-form striker Radamel Falcao: “He has had a great season, he tends to drift out of his position and this makes Coloniba much more dangerous.”

Falcao has made a blistering start to the season, netting ten goals in eight appearances for Atlético Madrid in La Liga and is currently attracting interest from English giants Chelsea.

Brazil today announced their squad to face Colombia on November 14 in New Jersey.
