Dutch legend Ruud Gullit believes that Santos star Neymar can be as good as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Gullit revealed that he has watched the Seleção star on numerous occasions: “I know all about Neymar, he is well regarded in Europe. I watched last year’s Club World Cup between Santos and Barcelona and it was very difficult for Neymar.
“Yet he is a young, talented player who can be as good as Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. I would like to see him in Europe.”
The former Chelsea manager stated his beliet that Neymar should not move to England: “A Latin country would be better, either Spain or Italy. I think a move would be good to prepare for the World Cup.”
Gullit also took the opportunity to wade into the Messi versus Ronaldo debate: “Messi is a phenomenon, like Ronaldo. I believe their advantage is knowing the mindset of their teams and their tactics.
“Messi is very fast and technically good, and playing with players who can operate in a 4-3-3. When Messi is playing for Argentina, he has a little more difficulty but he has improved.”
