Corinthians midfielder Paulinho has told reporters that, despite recent news stories, he is yet to receive any concrete interest from Chelsea.
Paulinho, 24, had been reported to have been the subject of heavy interest from the Blues, but instead reports that the only concrete proposal received was the previously confirmed summer offer from Inter Milan.
The midfielder is currently, along with his Corinthians team-mates, in the process of preparing for an possible encounter with Chelsea at December’s Club World Cup in Japan.
Paulinho told Foot365 in France: “There is plenty of speculation surrounding me. These rumours about Chelsea destabilise me and my relationship with Corinthians.
“But with Chelsea there is absolutely nothing. If there was something concrete, I’d let everyone know.
“Inter made me an official offer, you know that. I confirmed the proposal and then I decided to stay in Brazil. But now with Chelsea, there is nothing,
“I’m happy with Corinthians, even at this time. Also, I have challenges ahead such as the Club World Cup.
“For this reason, I remain focused on the pitch and fortunately I have a group of friends here in Brazil that help me to keep my feet on the ground and my head at Corinthians.”
