Atlético Mineiro’s Ronaldinho Gaúcho has admitted that his chances of winning the Brasileirão depends on the outcome of their clash against league leaders Fluminense tonight.

Ronaldinho told reporters: “It’s an extremely important match. I think that’s where the championship will be decided. If Fluminense win, there won’t be anything left to go for and if we win it, we’ll still be in it.”

The Atlético Mineiro star has been in inconsistent form this year, although he delivered a sensational performance in Atlético’s 6-0 win over Figueirense earlier this month, shortly after the death of his stepfather.

Fluminense are looking to lift a second title in three years and are nine points ahead of Atlético Mineiro with just seven games left to play.

Fred and Deco are leading this year’s Fluminense side, who ended their 26 year wait for the title two years ago.

Leading goalscorer Fred is in top form with 15 goals in the league and he will be looking to score the winner tonight.
