Desportivo Brazil starlet Bruno Gomes is set to agree a deal to join English giants Manchester United according to reports in England.

According to Sport Witness, Bruno Gomes, 16, is set to agree on a deal that will see him move to The Red Devils in 2013 after the club looks to take up their first option agreement on the player.

A gentleman’s agreement is thought to have been struck for his move next year as soon as the player comes of age as due to Brazilian law, the youngster cannot officially move abroad until the age of 18 and looks set to stay with his current club until that time.

The youngster recently told Twitter followers that he had been invited to train at the club’s Carrington training complex and then posted a picture of himself in Manchester United’s official training gear.

In an interview last month with Lancenet!, the player’s agent, Gilmar Rinaldi, revealed his excitement at his young client’s potential: “Despite having considerable pace and ability to pass opponents, these are not the characteristics that most attract attention to Bruno Gomes.

“The young athlete has exceptional positioning, finishing and intelligence on the pitch. Bruno does not need to work hard to score goals. He uses quick thinking to avoid defenders and get the ball out of reach of the goalkeeper.”

Bruno Gomes is already preparing for life in England, currently taking English classes and visiting England on a regular basis to train at Carrington.
