Dutch champions Ajax will use Brazil as their winter break training destination for the second year running at the request of their main sponsor AEGON. The 4-times European Cup winners will spend 6th January to 13th January in the country and will be based in Rio de Janeiro.

Ajax, who have won the Eredivisie in the last 2 seasons, have confirmed that coach Frank de Boer will use Brazil as the base for the training camp where they will prepare for the second half of the season.

During their stay in South America they will mix fitness and technical work with a friendly match, however there has been no announcements yet about a possible opponent.

Last winter Ajax also travelled to the country where the 2014 World Cup will be played, with São Paulo their destination. The weeklong trip consisted of a weeklong training camp finished with a practice match against Palmeiras, which they lost 1-0.
