Brazil’s Julio Cesar featured as QPR continued their poor run of form as they lost 2-1 to West Ham despite a stunning strike from teammate Adel Taarabt.

Cesar, 33, was called into action as he made several smart saves over the course of the game, the pick of the bunch coming as he palmed a Ricardo Vaz Te shot onto the bar.

Sam Allardyce’s West Ham took the lead via a Matt Jarvis header, before Vaz Te added another before half time.

After half time, Adel Taarabt was introduced to play and promptly produced a stunning 30 yard strike which left Jussi Jasskelainen rooted to the spot.

QPR’s woes were compounded further as Samba Diakite was sent off for a second booking 15 minutes from time.

QPR now lie bottom of the Premier League table with just two point from six games.

The Brazilian goalkeeper, with 64 caps to his name, joined Premier League strugglers QPR on a four year deal in August after a long career at Flamengo and Inter.

Cesar has just recently displaced England international goalkeeper, Robert Green, as number one at the London club.
