Brazilian striker Brandão is satisfied with his debut for new club Saint-Étienne, following his recent release from Marseille.

The 32-year-old made his first appearance for the Greens during a 3-0 victory over Bastia on Saturday, when he replaced Romain Hamouma in the 69th minute.

Brandão, who joined Les Verts on a two-year contract after being released at the end of last season, is happy with his debut and hopes for a bright future at the club.

He said: “It is a great satisfaction. I am very happy.

“I should congratulate the whole group. Hopefully we will continue playing with humility and simplicity like that and then we should move forward.”

Evaeverson Lemos da Silva, known simply as Brandão, has played for nine clubs during his 14 year career.

He moved to Marseille in 2009, following seven years of playing Ukrainian football with Shakhtar Donetsk, where he scored 91 goals in 220 appearences.

After helping Marseille to the Ligue 1 title in his first season, the veteran striker was sent out on loan twice, in the form of Brazilian sides Cruzeiro and Grêmio.

The number 14 will be looking for some more game time during Saint- Étienne’s next game, which is at home to Sochaux on September 15.
