PSG striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic admitted he knows little about incoming Brazilian Lucas Moura, but given the transfer fee involved added “he must be good”.
Lucas, 19, finalised a €43 million move to the French capital last week and will now link-up with his new team-mates on January 1.
Despite his high value, the São Paulo youngster remains a somehat unknown quantity in Europe, with Ibrahimovic himself saying so.
“The only thing I know about Lucas is that it cost a lot of money and must be good,” the Swedish striker told reporters. “He will only get to Paris Saint-Germain in January, but I’m sure he’s good. If not, would not cost much.
“But Brazil has a capacity to produce talent all the time. Sometimes, you do not know where they come from.”
Lucas will this week have a chance to impress the Swede first-hand, with the two players meeting with their national sides.
Brazil take on Sweden in a re-match of the 1958 World Cup final on Wednesday, an encounter for which they will wear an old-fashioned blue kit to mark the occasion.
