Goalkeeper Víctor Valdés believes that sought-after forward Neymar would fit in well at Barcelona.

Valdés has been watching the London 2012 Olympic Games this summer and has been impressed with the Santos star’s performances.

The 20-year-old has been in fine form for the Seleção, who took maximum points during the group stage, scoring two and assisting two goals.

Valdés said: “Neymar is a player who can act in any club and any club in the world dreams of having a player like him, for the talent he has, for all that powerful contribution on the pitch and we will see [if he moves to Barcelona] because in football anything can happen.

“He does things that only he can do, which is valuable for any team and especially for a team like Barcelona."

Neymar has long been a transfer target of both the Blaugrana and Real Madrid. However, Santos president Luis Álvaro de Oliveira Ribeiro recently insisted that the striker, who is valued at around £40million, will not be sold until his contract expires in 2014.

When asked about the possibility of moving to Brazil in the future, Valdés spoke of his admiration for Brazilian football, highlighting the “incredible passion" that can be seen at clubs in the South American nation

The 30-year-old said: “Possibly in the future. I do not rule out playing in Brazil – it would be very nice."

Barcelona play PSG in their third pre-season friendly tomorrow on August 4, where Valdes will face former team-mates Thiago Motta, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Maxwell.
