Sport Recife 1-4 Atlético Mineiro
Atlético Mineiro came from behind to beat Sport Recife 4-1 at the Ilha do Retiro.
Gilberto gave the hosts the lead in the 25th minute before Danilinho leveled the score just after the half-hour mark.
Atlético got themselves in front fourteen minutes into the second half via Ronaldinho’s strike, and former Manchester City striker Jo doubled their advantage five minutes later.
With just over seventeen minutes remaining on the clock, Bernard lobbed Sport goalkeeper Magrão to ensure victory for the visitors, who now sit at the top of Brasileirão with a record of nine wins, one draw and one loss.
Vasco 2-0 Santos
Vasco remain hot on Atlético-MG’s heels after defeating Santos 2-0 in Rio de Janeiro.
Douglas opened the scoring for the Cruz de Malta in the 11th minute before Alecsandro found the target two minutes after the half-time break.
The result means Santos now lie in fifteenth with a record of three defeats, seven draws and just one win.
Corinthians 1-1 Portuguesa
Corinthians were held to a 1-1 draw by their neighbours Portuguesa at the Pacaembu.
Héverton fired the visitors in front in the 29th minute before Douglas netted the equaliser four minutes into the second-half.
The result means Corinthians climb one place up the table to twelfth, while Portuguesa also move up one position to fifteenth.
