Lucas Leiva was delighted to return to action for Liverpool in their 1-1 with Toronto FC on Saturday.
The 25-year-old played the last 15 minutes in the Reds pre-season friendly encounter against the MLS side.
It marked the first time Lucas has been on the pitch since last November, when he sustained an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
”Very happy to be back playing with the RED shirt,” the Brazil international said on Twitter.
Lucas is likely to get more minutes under his belt when Liverpool take on Roma in a pre-season friendly in Boston on Wednesday.
