Brazilian newspaper Lance! are reporting that Manchester United have stepped up their interest in Sao Paulo starlet Lucas Moura, with a €33 million bid.
Lucas Moura, 19, has been on the Red Devils’ radar for some time and it appears, with club officials now in Brazil, that a possible transfer may be gathering pace.
Lucas had been linked to Inter Milan, but earlier in the week, Sao Paulo director of football Joao Paulo de Jesus Lopes poked fun at the Italian side’s ability to afford the player.
At the time, it was reported that a bid of at least €30 million would be needed to purchase the player. United, who have supposedly bid in excess of that amount, are looking to sort the transfer quickly.
Lucas will arrive in Britain with Brazil’s Olympic side next week, who will take on Team GB on July 20 in a pre-tournament warm-up fixture in Middlesborough.
