Adriano, who started his career at Flamengo, is currently a free agent after Corinthians decided terminated his contract last Monday.

The striker had only made eight appearances for the Timão in eleven months, and it was his lack of effort to lose weight that ultimately led to the Paulista club deciding to release him.

Now with the 30-year-old currently a free agent, strong reports in Brazil are suggesting that he is set for a return to the Flamengo, where Willians claims he’s loved.

”The only club that can help Adriano recover and become the Emperor again is Flamengo,” the Rubro Negro midfielder said. ”Everybody here has great affection for him.”

Willians also believes that if Flamengo were to re-sign Adriano, then younger players would benefit from his experience immensely.

”If Adriano comes, he will be a great help to our team. He is a leader and he will be able to help the younger players on a daily basis.”
