Rafa Alcântara, the younger brother of Barça first-team player Thiago and son of World Cup winner Mazinho, had been thought to be following his brother into the Spain set-up, but Brazil have sprung a suprise.
Spain could of course force the youngster to make a decision by including the youngster in their Under-19 squad for friendlies with Montenegro later this month.
Rafinha has represented Spain at Under-17 and Under-19 level, but the CBF is hopeful of persuading the midfielder to follow his father into the Brazil set-up.
The rest of the squad is largely composed of the stand-out players from the recent Copa São Paulo de Futebol Júnior tournament, although there is no place for those regularly representing their club at first-team level, such as Muralha (Flamengo), Gomes and Marquinhos (Corinthians).
Interestingly, there is also no place for Chelsea youngster Lucas Piazon, who last summer was part of the same Under-17 squad as many of those included.
