Since Mano Menezes replaced Dunga as the head coach of Brazil, Alves has ousted the likes of Maicon and Fabio to establish himself as the Selecão"s first-choice right-back.

However in an interview with SporTV, Torres revealed he"s disappointed with Alves" performances for Brazil. He said:

"I have never seen him play for the Selecão in the same way he plays for Barcelona.

"He"s used to touching the ball [with Barcelona], but for the Selecão he doesn"t play with kind of touch.

"For Barcelona he is exceptional, but I"ve never seen him perform in the same way for the Selecão."

Meanwhile, Torres acknowledged that Menezes is spoilt for choice in the right-back position, but singled out Porto"s Danilo as the player who could play the role. The 67-year-old said:

"We have other players who are doing well in our championships.

"We have this kid who was at Santos and then went to Portugal [Porto], Danilo. He"s a very good player."
