In an interview with the Corriere dello sport, the Brazilian international claimed the reigning Serie A champions had lacked the desire to win at the start of the 2011-12 campaign.
”We lacked the real hunger for success. We no longer had the same desire to win. This hunger for success is what makes the difference for a team with our qualities.
”It happened after the Supercoppa Italiana. The league started and we were no longer the same. We seemed to be thinking that we could easily win another Scudetto.
”Football isn’t like that, though. In a minute everything can change. Right now, last year’s feeling is back, and we’re hungry for more titles.”
