Silva had already agreed personal terms with the Peixe, but the Copa Libertadores holders decided to pull the plug on the deal when Flamengo requested a release fee for the 26-year-old.
”We haven’t been able reach an agreement with Flamengo,” said Rodrigues.
”The values of the negotiation were not what Santos considers reasonable, their request was beyond what we think is fair, something that did not fit in to our investment policy.”
