First up on Wednesday were Vasco, who managed to maintain their 100% record with a comfortable 3-1 win against Bangu. Alecsandro, Thiago Feltri and Bernardo were the scorers for the Cruz de Malta.

Also in action in action on Wednesday were Fluminense, who suffered their first defeat of the competition, losing 2-1 against Boavista. Deco had opened the scoring for the Tricolor in the first half, but the visitors made a late comeback scoring two goals in the last ten minutes of the game.

On Thursday, Botafogo were held to 2-2 draw against Madureira. After going a goal down in the first half, the Fogão thought they had bagged all three points thanks to goal from Herrera and Rodrigo, but a last minute strike from Alex Alves denied the Serie A side the victory.

After qualifying for the group stages of the Libertadores on Wednesday, Flamengo fielded their second string team to do the job against Olaria on Friday. Unfortunately for the Rubro Negro faithful, they saw their side held to yet another goalless draw.
