The former Barcelona ace only recently returned to the Brazilian national team set up in October, to play in a sequence of friendlies after going eleven months without receiving a call up.

Many critics have argued that Ronaldinho is no longer good enough to warrant a place in Mano Menezes’ squad, but the 31-year-old insists he’s determined to make sure he plays in the next edition of the Confederations cup next year in Brazil.

”It’s an extremely important competition, it’s like a preview for the FIFA World Cup,” Ronaldinho was quoted as saying on FIFA’s official website

”The next edition will have a special flavour since it’s in Brazil. For that reason I’m very motivated, and I’m hoping to take part in this competition in 2013.”
