An agreement may have been reached in december, but after Santos attempted to change the loan conditions of full-back Maranhão, Coritiba have decided to pull the plug on Jonas’ transfer.
The decision is a big blow to Santos, who will be left with Pará, Maranhão and the 17-year-old Crystian as their right-back options, none of whom are considered to be first-team standard.
There may well be an attempt by the Paulista club to reincarnate a deal, but for now Coritiba are sticking to their guns and keeping their man.
